Daily Sketch: Basketball guy

Athletic, gangly, skinny is a tricky mix to draw, especially with pretty baggy clothes haha.  This guy was getting pumped up for some early morning b-ball.  I tried to give him big feet, calves, and shoulders, like the rest of him would eventually catch up or something, but without hulking him up to much.

Thanks!

Daily Sketch: Transit Dude

Saw this guy as I was getting off the skytrain this morning.  I knew I'd probably be drawing him unless I saw someone extra fun to draw.  There were some close calls at lunch, but he managed to fend off all challengers.

Today's winner...Transit Dude!

Rocking some high socks, big belt and fanny pack combo, and some mini-looking tech walki-talki gear.
Thanks for having a look!

Daily Sketch: Golf Guy!

Time to get some new stuff up in here!  Nothing too crazy, just a sketch of a dude I saw on the way in to work this morning.  There is a pretty good chance that he was wearing a ladies hat.  It was sunny today, so at least he's not getting burnt.  I've seen lots of bikes and suitcases on the skytrain, but oddly enough I think that was the first set of clubs.

Check back later in the week to see who else I see.  I'll post one each day this week, and Monday was a holiday so it doesn't count haha.

Edu and the Demon Shark Animatic

Here's an animatic that I put together near the end of school, complete with the ending that I finished shortly after school finished.  No sound on this one, but there is no dialogue so it's all good.  Just get some epic sounding background music going if you want some sound.  Enjoy!

Composition Thumbnail Practice Stuff

Yikes,  it's been a little while since I posted something.  I can totally understand how once people start working they sometimes post waaaay less.  The good news is that I'm working!  I'm currently working as a storyboard revisionist which has been great great great so far!

I was watching a movie this week and thought I'd sketch a few frames to practice composition and perspective and stuff.  They're pretty messy, but they were also pretty quick to do!

I'll be impressed if anyone can figure out the movie haha.

Don't worry, I promise I'll get some new stuff on here soon!

Life Drawing: Top 10 from 4th Semester

Here's something I meant to post a while ago, my top 10 drawings from last semester.  This time we had to hand in our best 10 pages.  It could be just 10 drawings, but it seemed better to group drawings and make use of the entire page since we were not handing in the original drawings this time.

If you want to see my previous top 10 drawings you can check out semester 3 HERE, semester 2 HERE, and semester 1 HERE.

I'm happy with how these compare to previous semesters.  The freedom to pick from 10 pages was nice because I could throw a few crazier ones in there.  There are also better realistic drawings, but some of my favorite drawings happen when I play around with proportions and pose.

The Photoshop tweaks here are pretty minimal.  I wanted to keep the paper texture there, because a lot of the subtle stuff gets lost when I took the background to white.  Basically just cut and paste with some level tweaks so they would look alright on screen and when printed.

Thanks for looking!

Life Drawing: Let's see what I've got here

Alright, doing a little computer clean-up here at school.  Here's a few random drawings!  I think this brings me almost to the end of the semester.  I've got my life drawing portfolio around here somewhere.  I'll upload that soon too.
