My Grad Book Page

Here is what my Grad Book page ended up looking like.  It's a 2 page spread.  Everybody in the class does one, and then we give the book to studios and people interested in the program.

Life Drawing: A Little Bit of Everything

Suprise!  It's some life drawing!

Working on shading.

Not quite what the model looked like.

More shading.

Trying out some different gesture drawing styles.

A little cartoon scene I drew up with conte.

Another approach to gesture drawing.  I like some of these.

Thanks for having a look!

Life Drawing: Start of 4th Semester

Here's the first batch of 2013 Life Drawing.  Lots of short poses.  Soooo many.

Trying some silhouette gestures to help form clear poses.

Trying out a lot of different gesture approaches.  Capturing the poses is the main thing, but there are soooo many ways to try to do it.  Oh well, fun to experiment.

A couple full pages gestures to stay loose.

The model had this awesome Thor hammer, but then I realized I didn't remember what Thor looked like, but I had be watching Spartacus (sooo good) so problem solved

Rounder

Straighter

Was playing some Jak and Daxter that week.  That game has awesome design.

May have pushed the form slightly here.  Reminds me of some ancient art.

Thanks for having a look!

Life Drawing: Top 10 Drawings From 3rd Semester

So at the end of each semester we select our 10 best drawings and hand them in to be marked.  It can be tough to pick out what "best" is, but 10 is enough that it allows for a good mix, it just requires sorting through a pretty big stack of newsprint.  Luckily the better ones were closer to the top.

If you want to compare my top 10 from 2nd semester they are HERE, and if you want to go all the way back to 1st semester they are HERE.  Getting better, but no shortage of things I still want to work on.

On with the show!

Thanks for having a look.  More from this semester on the way shortly.

Life Drawing: Almost the End of 3rd Semester

Alriiiight, back to some life drawing.  These are from the last couple weeks before the holiday break.
More 5-10 minute poses, but still a few 1s in here.

Sometimes my gestures end up smaller, but I try to do a few full pages ones to loosen up.

I almost always get some sort of face drawn, but I ended up working on the rest of the pose and when time ran out I left this one alone.  Partly I kind of liked it this way, partly I was pretty sure my made up face would destroy it :)

Trying to shade, without it looking like scribbles.

I like the attitude and expression here.  Still need to work on faces.

This one might have been up here before, I had a few random pages that I liked that were out when I was sorting through drawings trying to come up with my ten best for the semester.  Speaking of which, get ready for my 10 best drawings from 3rd semester...coming next post!

100th Post: Animation Super Post!

Woah this is my 100th post, let's make it a good one!

Here are a few of my animation assignments from last semester.  All done on paper, and all taking a very long time :)

Daffy on a ball, trying to do his thing.

Lilo trying to move her mouth while she speaks.

The Goof trying to catch a baseball

Alice trying to look like Alice.

Thanks for having a look!

Gladiator Guy Animation

Here is a short animation from the end of this semester, although not really focusing specifically on animation.

This one was for our digital animation class, learning and animating with either Flash or Toon Boom Harmony.  I did the designs, builds, and animation.  Think of it like the short you watch before watching a short.  I think it's kind of funny, but mostly in a funny bad way :)

Thanks for stopping bye!
