Character Design - Tarsier Monk

Tarsiers are pretty cool looking animals.

Here are a few poses of a tarsier monk character I've been working on.  We were looking at some Nico Marlet designs (which were awesome) and he did these really rough gestures and then went over them.  We also had to use marker for this assignment.  The marker mixed with the really rough sketch was a fun combo.  I could stay loose while sketching, but still end up with a legible final pose.  The character changed a bit as I added poses, but stayed surprisingly on model considering the first pose was basically the model.

048 - Quadruped Animations

Alright, here are some quadruped animations.  These were all drawn digitally, which seems easier to get the movement, but harder to get the line.  The lines are getting better though.  Just takes a little getting used to.

A walk exercise.

A walk cycle

A practice exercise involving perspective and a turn.

A walk jump turn perspective combo.  This one was fun because I figured out how to use one of my layout backgrounds.

Thanks for having a look!

047 - Life Drawing: Some costumes, real and imagined

A little bit of everything here: gestures, anatomy, costumes.

This one might be a tad exaggerated.

Like this one.

Playing around with lines.

Like this pose.

Costume time.

Costumes are fun to draw.  Lots of additional contour lines to use.

Shoulder study.

More costumes, this time made up.  We were designing a Sci-fi soldier this week so I was playing around with that idea during life drawing.

Thanks for looking!
